Of Endings and such...

So I beat Wild Arms 4 after playing it off and on for about 6 months. I must say, the game was enjoyable, but the ending was a little "meh". Really, Every single ending in the series has been consistently worse with each new entry. The original Wild Arms was not only one of the most entertaining RPG's of it's generation but it also packed one hell of a thorough ending. It's sad, really, when you've spent all this time on a game only to have a mildly mediocre ending as a reward for having cared enough for the story. Ah, well...

Playing through Breath of Fire IV still... Loving the game, although it's pace isn't particularly quick, I make up for it buy hacking my way through it, and even then it seems to crawl a bit. Somehow, despite this little/big flaw, I find the game charming and quite endearing. I must say I love the art style.

Started playing Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law. I'm a big fan of the cartoon show and also enjoyed the Phoenix Wright games, so it's logical that I would enjoy this game. There's one problem, though. Every time I lose all my gravitas and it's game over I am forced to go back to the menu screen rather than get a handy retry screen. What gives? What genius thought this up? It's gets old quick, especially when a great deal of the conclusions the player is expected to arrive at are rather obtuse and illogical - which is normal given the nature of the subject material - and therefore produce a great many "game over" moments.

Must pop in Gradius V one of these days and finally let it rip. Also, Fatal Frame 2.

Ah, well. Time to do stuff.
